Some sort of an update

A couple important things that've happened recently:

I went and saw an awesome revival blues show on Sunday night. Samuel James hosted a pre-release party for his upcoming album at Space Gallery. He had a host of awesome guests. Every other song he had a new person come up on stage with him. I had no idea the revival blues scene was so huge. His guests included his father, area artist Meantone, Moses Atwood and Papa James, father of the featured musician. The song with Meantone started as a collaboration and ended as an uproarious Blues War. They were running around the stage, slamming on their resonators, switching guitars/banjos and hats even! There was also a show stealing Musical Saw player. There was one other guy he played with who was highly energetic. Belting out the song with everything he had in him, stomping furiously the whole song. Unfortunately, I have no idea what his name was.

But it was great.

And at the end of the show everyone who had been a guest got up for one last singalongy song. The whole night was pretty wonderful.

It would entirely behoove you to check out any of those named artists. I just couldn't be bothered to link to them.

And yesterday we fixed the washing machine. When we opened up the beast in the basement, we uncovered three of my socks and no one else's. And one of those socks was the one causing the problem and blocking the pump. It was pretty easy to fix but sort of a bitch to dis- and re- assemble.

Anyway, good times.
